What exactly is chicken fried steak? Does it have beef steak in it as well? Or is it only in the UK that steak means beef?
I was confused when I first came across it too. Chicken fried steak is beef dipped in batter and fried. And you have chicken fried chicken too. The “chicken fried” bit is, to the best of my knowledge, the cooking method (battered and deep fried)
