Gestures say so much

Language lives as much in our gestures as in our words, a new study shows. Certain languages are richer in gesture, and bilingual individuals often use the fluent gestures from one language, even when speaking the words of another.

That is interesting - I like their current research on if being bilingual in general can increase use of gestures. I’m speaking two languages, Norwegian and English, and neither is very rich in gestures. I have noticed that I use gestures a lot more now than I did before I started using English in daily life, though - so I wouldnt be surprised if they found a link
Likewise! We English are not known for our gesturing, but since I started to use other languages regularly I definitely find myself using gestures a lot more, even when I am speaking English.
