Life in Leith, Edinburgh - ‘my own private soap opera’, as writer Peter describes it - fill Naked Blog. (for the easily shocked: don’t worry, there is no actual nakedness!)
Accounts of walking the nearby hills feature prominently, accompanied by plenty of photos of the beautiful Scottish countryside.
The writing is highly readable and astutely observed - a recent post was this week voted Post of the Week for Pete’s account of his visit to the Edinburgh Sheriff courtrooms after being summoned for jury service.

Life in Japan interpreted through statistics! ‘Seron’ (Ken Yasumoto-Nicolson) finds surveys and opinion polls of Japanese people and interprets them in this blog, explaining the results in everyday language and sometimes even a pie chart.
The diverse collection of subjects ranges from the frivolous - vending machine items the Japanese would like to buy, to the more functional - how many people know what processor their computer runs on.
You can read a Japan Times interview with the Scottish - Japanese author of the blog here.

Written by a dual-national UK-Iranian, this blog provides a tantalising glimpse of life in Iran. The author moved from England to a town just outside Tehran just over two years ago, and so writes with an original point of view as he has a foot in each culture. In this weeks posting we hear about a visit to a charity for disabled people in south Tehran.
