Indigenous Bolivia is a journey which includes some of Bolivia’s villages and more out of the way places. On the way there are plenty of small films and photos to learn about different customs of indigenous people living in Bolivia.
The site can take a while to load because there are so many photos but there are some interesting things here, such as the Sagrada Coca Group who you can watch singing in the Aymara language.
If you read Spanish the Spanish version Bolivia Indigena contains more lengthy explanations.

There’s a Christmas theme going on at EllasDevil - it all looks very festive. Recent content is less festive - the events of the last few weeks seem to be putting a bit of a dampener on Christmas in Greece this year. Let’s hope things get back to normal soon.

Festive header from EllasDevil
Read further and you will find lots more about life in Greece, including the revelation that EllasDevil’s favourite place to eat is his parents’ dinner table. What better place to enjoy delicious Greek food?

Hilda works from Monday to Saturday but still finds time to post on My Manila every day. There’s a photo in each post, but this is not just a photo blog. The descriptions are perfect for learning more about Filipino culture and life in Manila.

Water delivery vehicle from My Manila - this sidecar carries the drinking water which is delivered to Manila residents
It seems that life is not always work, work, work though - have a look at the scenic outdoor dining at Manila Bay. This is definitely dinner with a view!

Born in California to Mexican parents, Daniel Hernandez grew up bi-lingual and bi-cultural. He spent several years writing for newspapers such as the LA Times and LA Weekly before moving to Mexico City to work as an independent writer.
His blog Intersections has a focus on current events in Mexico and Mexico City in particular, for example the ‘chaotic’ celebrations for San Judas Tadeo, the preferred saint of ‘lost causes’ among young people.
Hernandez’s last post, on 1st November (day of the dead in Mexico) announced a break from posting until 2009. We look forward to seeing it back in the New Year.

This week we are heading to Canada, where the 2008 Canadian Blog Awards are currently open for nominations.
Andrea must lead a hectic life - she is mom to 4 kids - but that doesn’t stop her having energy to spare for Atypicalife dot net. In fact her energy leaps out of the posts. She has been blogging for years and years (since 1998 to be precise) and writes from the East Coast of Canada.
To understand more about this typical (?) Canadian life I will leave you with an excerpt from a recent post:
…the next morning, in the foggy half-light of dawn, I was awakened by gunshots. And my first thought was to make sure the zombies could not get in the house

Jan and Amanda live in Perth, West Australia, where summer is about to arrive. Try not to feel too envious if you’re reading from the Northern Hemisphere…
In Jan and Amanda they write about life in Australia. Amanda is Australian, Jan is German and their posts are written in both languages. Photos of their trips to the spectacular countryside surrounding Perth are an added bonus.

Like Kyle, who wrote about learning to get on with her Chilean father-in-law for My Partner is a Foreigner, Amanda is also a professional blogger, mostly writing about travel.
In a different blog Not a Ballerina she writes about her life as a travel writer. It is the second blog of several - go there and check out the rest as well!

Read the smart and engaging BuYousef (Yousef’s dad) and you will get to peek at life in Kuwait.
Mohammad, as he is also known, likes photography and takes his camera almost everywhere. So there are plenty of photos of Kuwait and the other places his business takes him, both Middle East and further afield.

In between trips there are stories of family life with Um Yousef and children Noor and of course Yousef. In case that’s not enough there is also gardening and homing pigeons.

This week’s Blog of the World definitely shows a new side of life in the USA.
Olivia, Nathan and their son Tristan are on a road trip around the USA in their RV (motorhome for those of us not fluent in American!). They are web designers, so they can work from anywhere that has an internet connection.

The family set off from Pittsburgh in August and are currently in Austin, Texas. When mum and dad are not coding they are busy homeschooling Tristan, who is 7 years old.
Tumblewagon is the story of their adventures. As you would expect from a pair of tech-friendly web designers, this is no ordinary words and pictures blog - there are also video and podcast entries.

Beenish Khan writes Kaleidoscope from Pakistan. She works as a software engineer and so writes a mixture of stories interspersed with techie news and recently updates on her new hobby of making cartoon strips!
Through reading her posts we can learn that many things in life don’t really change between different countries, while occasional posts (such as this one written after the bombing of the Marriott hotel in Islamabad) are a reminder that some aspects of life can be very different.

Ziboy is a Chinese photoblog by Beijing based photographer Wen Ling.
The blog shows photos of Chinese people in all kinds of everyday situations: at home, out at parties, on the street, laughing, working, talking, eating, smoking… It provides a window on life in China that many visitors do not see.

Photo: Friends, 2007.11.09 from Ziboy.com
The story of Ziboy is remarkable - inspired by New York photoblogs Wen Ling decided to set up one of his own in 2001. At the time he was not a professional photographer, in fact displaying his photos on Ziboy.com led to his first professional job.
Zeboy’s blog is more about photos than words, so for those interested in reading more about Wen Ling have a look at this 2003 interview by Sinosplice.
