Born in California to Mexican parents, Daniel Hernandez grew up bi-lingual and bi-cultural. He spent several years writing for newspapers such as the LA Times and LA Weekly before moving to Mexico City to work as an independent writer.
His blog Intersections has a focus on current events in Mexico and Mexico City in particular, for example the ‘chaotic’ celebrations for San Judas Tadeo, the preferred saint of ‘lost causes’ among young people.
Hernandez’s last post, on 1st November (day of the dead in Mexico) announced a break from posting until 2009. We look forward to seeing it back in the New Year.

Jan and Amanda live in Perth, West Australia, where summer is about to arrive. Try not to feel too envious if you’re reading from the Northern Hemisphere…
In Jan and Amanda they write about life in Australia. Amanda is Australian, Jan is German and their posts are written in both languages. Photos of their trips to the spectacular countryside surrounding Perth are an added bonus.

Like Kyle, who wrote about learning to get on with her Chilean father-in-law for My Partner is a Foreigner, Amanda is also a professional blogger, mostly writing about travel.
In a different blog Not a Ballerina she writes about her life as a travel writer. It is the second blog of several - go there and check out the rest as well!
