the world in your pocket

Sadly Olive will not update The Life of Riley any more. The oldest blogger in the world passed away on July 12th aged 108.
Olive took up blogging in February 2007 at the age of 106 with the help of Mike, her helper, and through her blog she became known and loved all over the world.
The blog is an amazing record of the life of this remarkable Australian lady, and also hopefully an inspiration to all of us that you are never too old to start something new.

Cherry is a freelance web editor, information architect, screenplay writer and DJ from Slovenia. So her blog Lust for Life has a bias towards music.
Recent topics included nipping over the border to Italy for a rock concert (the joys of living in Continental Europe!) and the advantages of working from home (see photo) - this may be one thing that doesn’t change from country to country.

Written by a student from Malaysia, tiMes JoUrNaL is a mixture of life and travel. Kyh clearly loves his country and is keen to show its best sites off to anyone who visits this blog through frequent travel posts.
This recent post describes an annual architectural workshop this year hosted by his university. Sounds like they had fun… the architecture exhibitions look quite impressive as well.
Thanks to Zhu for recommending this blog. Can you recommend a blog of the world? We’d love to hear from you. Send your nominations to info@pocketcultures.com

More than 3 years ago Eric had the idea of posting one photo every day of his town, Paris. His blog ParisDailyPhoto now contains hundreds of photos taken all over Paris.

There are famous monuments, exhibitions, even a peep inside a Parisian flat. It’s a great way to discover the city, especially as with each photo Eric explains some aspect of the many facets of Parisian life.

This original idea has inspired many other people to create daily photo sites of their towns. The City Daily Photo network now counts more than 680 photo blogs from all over the world. Impressive!
