Picture Postcards: Snail mail in Costa Rica

This photo is from our contributor in Costa Rica, Nuria who says,

In this picture, you can see one of the most beautiful buildings in the capital, the Central Post Office in San José, Costa Rica. It was built between 1914 and 1917 and it houses the Stamp Museum that allows tourists to learn about the development of the Costa Rican Postal Service. At the back there’s the National Bank, which is the highest building in Costa Rica.

Today begins our new topic on Picture Postcards which is all about snail mail around the world. Do you still write letters…on paper? Or perhaps you send birthday or other special occasion cards. Check in on Mondays to see how people use snail mail around the world.
